Overview

Cantinetta Cavour, nestled in the heart of Florence on Via Camillo Cavour, is a true gem for anyone seeking an authentic Italian dining experience. This charming restaurant offers a warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements its focus on traditional Tuscan cuisine.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly the Bistecca Alla Fiorentina, a classic Florentine steak cooked with expert precision and full of robust, smoky flavors. Accompanying this are perfectly roasted potatoes that draw praise for their crispy, golden texture—an ideal pairing to the rich meat. For lovers of seafood and pasta, dishes like Linguine Al Granchio and classic Spaghetti Carbonara showcase the kitchen’s skill in balancing fresh, authentic ingredients with traditional preparation methods.

The restaurant’s tagliere di salumi e formaggi offers a delightful introduction to Tuscan cured meats and cheeses, setting the stage for the meal with genuine Italian flavors. Guests also find the Bruschetta paired with a refreshing Spritz to be a harmonious combination, embodying the local vibes and convivial atmosphere. Desserts such as the Tiramisù and Cheesecake provide a satisfying, sweet finish that lingers pleasantly after the main courses.

Beyond the food, Cantinetta Cavour stands out for its hospitality. Reviewers frequently highlight the attentive, friendly service from hosts like Tony and Mya, who make every visitor feel like family. This personalized care enhances the dining experience, inviting guests to return time and again.

The space itself is quaint and cozy, reflective of the intimate trattorias that characterize Florence’s culinary scene. It attracts both locals and travelers eager to indulge in genuine Tuscan fare without the pretense of more tourist-heavy establishments.

Ideal for those who appreciate hearty, authentic Italian dishes served in a laid-back yet vibrant setting, Cantinetta Cavour promises not just a meal, but an experience steeped in Florentine tradition and warmth.

Really great food at Cavour, local vibes and also great combo on Bruschetta + Spritz. We ate the Cacio e Pepe Pasta and the Lasagna, very filling and we spent 55 Euros.

Genuinely one of the best steaks I have ever experienced. Me & my wife had discovered this place by chance the night previous by dropping in for drinks. We were made to feel so welcome by Tony & Mya by their hospitality we decided to returned the following evening for our dinner plans, IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The steak was one of the best experiences we have ever had, fully authentic & was cooked to perfection . We would 100% recommend this restaurant if you are looking for an authentic florentine steak experience along with outstanding hospitality. We would absolutely return here again, thank you to Tony, Mya & the chef for an amazing dinning experience, you guys really are a credit to this restaurant .

What a hidden little gem! We were pulled in by the 7 euro spritz and bruschetta sign. The bruschetta was tasty, spritz hit the spot! We also ordered the crab linguine. This was easily the best pasta dish I have had our whole trip. The staff was super nice, attentive but also relaxed so you didn't feel rushed or any pressure (which is often experienced in the big bustling city restaurants). The crab linguine for 16 euro, it comes with two full sized crabs that are halved, and the tools to eat it along with delicious pasta . Our meal was incredible. Highly recommend visiting for a nice bite to eat!
